PlakaKapı — reading the plate and opening the gate on site
Automatic gate opening at residential estate entrances using licence plate recognition. The decision is made on site rather than in the cloud, so gates keep opening when the internet goes down.
Manage in the cloud, match at the edge, open locally
The most common mistake in estate access systems is tying the decision to open the gate to the cloud. The moment the link drops or the cloud slows down, cars sit waiting at the barrier.
PlakaKapı inverts that decision: reading the plate from the camera feed, matching it against the authorised list and firing the relay all happen on the device on site. The cloud is only a record and management plane — it decides who is authorised, relays remote-open commands and keeps the audit trail.
Installation was kept just as simple: the edge device only makes outbound connections. No static IP, port forwarding or VPN setup is needed on the estate network.
- Sub-second openingPlate reading, matching and the relay pulse all run locally, so the gate opens without waiting.
- Works without internetThe authorised plate list is kept in sync on the device, so entries continue when the line drops.
- Footage stays on siteRaw footage and face data are never sent to the cloud; only operational records such as entry events go upstream.
- Resident appResidents can open the gate remotely from the mobile app, create guest invitations and review entry history.
- Multi-site managementDozens of estates are managed from a single reseller console, while each estate manager sees only their own data.
- Hardware flexibilityIt works with dry contact relays, network relays, or smart cameras that read the plate themselves.
